Would magnaflow exhaust sound good with no cats?

Hello

I just got in my MAC headers and I'm thinking it will be too loud with my texas-rumbler(same thing as loud-mouth) I found a pretty good deal on a magnaflow and I was wondering how it would sound with no-cats. I want something that will still be pretty loud, just not extreme. Anybody have any sound clips??

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm running magnaflows on my Impala. I've gto LT's no cats, x-pipe, all in 2.5" pipe. It sounds great, not too loud at idle, but it gets hella loud when i step on the go pedal. I'll see if I can get some sound clips up.

I'm running the Magnafow catback with SLP headers and no cat and I get compliments all the time. It is pretty quiet when cruising but really comes alive when you get on it. I hated it with stock manifolds but really like it now.

I've got the magnaflow exhaust and I really like it too. I've got a cam and longtubes with no cats and I get a tun of compliments. I don't care for the tips, but when you get on it..it gets very loud. People say it's very raspy and sounds like glass packs...but I dont think it sounds anything of the sort. My brother has a 99 gt with basani x pipe with basani exhaust with no cats, and mine, at wot...blows his out of the water. Mine is pretty loud at idle, because I have a decent sized cam. I'll try to take a vid with my digital camera tomorrow and email it to you if you want.

Personally, I think the Magnaflow (like just about every other cat-back out there sounds like A$$ without cats; not as bad as an open Borla or Loudmouth, but still). At least with longtubes though...

Not that you all probably care, but I got the chance to hear Madwolf's (Ion from MadZ28.com) LT1 in person that has a big cam, Jet Hot LT's, offroad Y (no cats), & the Magnaflow cat-back...And it had the sharpest, most ear-peircing sound when he revved it up and got on it. Kinda raspy, but extremely high-pitched...My friend looked over at me and we both agreed it that didn't sound like any SBC V8 to us...But anyways, just our "opinions" and if you read this Ion, I still think you've got a nice Z28. Just didn't care for the sound. But your tuning is awesome bro!

If it was me, I'd leave the cats on when running the Magnaflow. But I think the Hooker or SLP 2OTL sound much better without 'em if you choose to leave them off...
