Vacuum leak is possible or a crack in the air intake tube or bad vacuum hose/connection. That will cause a maf code. What brand of plug wires/wires did u use

what exact code do you have?

although you might have a vacuum leak i doubt it is the cause of your drivability issues

was there any other work done to this car before this issue arose. what type of plugs and wires did you use

i agree that a vacuum leak is not likely your problem. Replacing plugs and wires is a must. You need to put on the best parts available. Anything from autozone or advance should be avoided. I recommend A/C delco plugs and delco, napa belden premium, taylor. I fix alot of problems by replacing NEW parts from autozone with quality parts. You need to get at least the plugs changed and start there

I used ac delco plugs the nice like 7 dollars ones. As for the plug wires I'm not sure I know they cost about 55 bucks. I replaced the intake elbow like 2 or 3 months ago. No engine work has been done to the car. It ran great for 5 months before it started missing. Why would my intake manifold have lower than normal pressure? And I will try looking for receipts for the wires but my friend who helped me install it has no idea either.

Don't know if I said this or not but its a completly random missfire. I drove to the shop and it was fine and even on the way back it missfired maybe once. Some times its hard to drive without being embarrassed haha. It does it hot or cold and in any gear

On the misfire a quick check might be take a bottle of water(old 409 bottle or similiar) and spray the wires at night in the dark and see if it sparks. Thats an easy cheap plug wire test(could still be bad) Intermittant would lean me away from plugs and wires though.

update before i get codes scanned again. I about had a heart attack today haha. I pulled it into the garage started it with the garage door open of course. I went inside to find my camera so I could take a video of what is was doing of course I couldn't find it, but when I came back out i heard a noise. Sound like a dent was either being put it or taken out just a metal popping noise. Then after it did it 2 or 3 times damn thing backfired louder than when it backfires when I drive. I could of swore it came from underneath the middle of the car. I could be wrong though. This is the 3rd time it has happened. Why would it do that at idle?

I put some seafoam in the gas tank today and ran it like 5 miles and since then it has not backfired once i think possibly the backfire was cuz it has sat for months at a time but it did still miss a couple of times I'll know tomorrow if it for sure stopped the backfire and ill look at my vacuum lines tomorrow as well as try to get it scanned again for the specific code number

ok so i drove it just now and no backfire right i mean i drove it a good 8 miles just driving it nice and easy and a little bit of fast acceleration but not WOT. RPM gauge was not jumping and I couldn't tell if it was missing but it didn't seem like it was at all because it ran so smooth. I got to a stop light reved up to 3k dumped the clutch and took of sqealed 1st gear and let up at like 50 mph. Right after that the RPM guage started to jump again and it started to miss pretty badly. Is this a sign of a vacuum leak or intake leak of some sort. Only reason i felt this may be important is because it ran fine for almost 20 miles and then suddenly when i punch it the car starts to miss and rpms jump around.
