worth to to step up to longtubes...

...from 1 3/4 hooker shorties? I was considering it, but I have enough low end torque as it is. I would like the 15ish HP up top though. But for good longtubes and a matching y-pipe it would cost a fortune!

With the hooker shorties I've heard something about opening up the header flange (or something like that) for more flow. Can anyone provide more info?

Do a SEARCH, this has been posted about long tubes vs. short tubes. And it comes down to like 1/2 this way 1/2 that way. 2nd part of your question I never heard that, even though my friend had the hooker shorties. Think of how much long tubes will cost what about 600(if not more) and for what 15 hp up high, you could get a nice cam or something...
