Is it worth it? (SES light)
My SES light came on and I took it to my regular mechanic (I'm 18 and don't have the time or tools right now to do this stuff myself). He said that something went bad in the main computer (he called it a "driver"), but said there are two other ones in there, which explains why it isn't running badly. Is it worth it to replace the whole computer just to make the light go off? Is there any other way to make the light go off besides replacing the computer? The car is running normally as far as I can tell. Thanks in advance.
P.S. - How much should the computer cost? He quoted me about $150 to get it done.

What year is your car? Only the 93's used an ECM with the "quad drivers". Often the problem is what's attached to the "driver" - EGR solenoid, EEC solenoid, etc. - and not the driver itself.
If your car is a 94 or newer, he needs to use the correct list of diagnostic codes, and not the one from 93, or a generic list. Give us the year of your car, and the specific DTC code and we'll ltry to get you headed in the correct direction.
You might want to add a "signature" listing the important info about your car, like year, tranny, any major mods, etc. Just keep it "5 lines or less"
