Is it worth it to pay more for coated pacesetters or get uncoated?

IM just trying to decide if its worth it to spend the extra cash on the coating or just to get the regular painted pacesetters. I had painted headers on one of my past Z28's they did rust a little but nothing to major. Any facts opinions or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Definitely get them coated... I have the uncoated, and I wish I had spent the extra money for coated now

It seems like when you get regular steel headers coated it only lasts a few years but it will still be better than paint. Coating stainless steel headers seems to last a very long time and work real well.

The coating adds some additional power and looks good doing it.

The power is not something meaningful on a street car. What coating will do is greatly slow them rusting out and stop them from baking everything underhood. I think most people who tried uncoated will tell you they are more expensive byt the time you end up replacing the plug wires and other stuff they melt.

coated. two friends (98z and a 02 SS) put on pacesetters last year. The ss had coated ones and he had them installed in june of 04. the 98z had the painted ones installed in dec 04 when he did his 383. The 98z is already having rust show through while the SS's look brand new. Both cars are daily drivers.
