Is it worth to buy used gears?

Is it worth to buy used 3.73 GM gears???

I bought GM motive 3.42 from a member here that came off a M6 trans am I believe. They are working great without any noise at all. I don't think used gears are bad. It's all in the installation.

I wouldnt because you never know if the back lash was set correctly. Just get a new one.

I would not buy used unless I had been in the car they came out of, listened to them and had firsthand knowledge of how they were treated. Now, if I did not care if they would last or how they might sound, then yes.

Used gears will make you Not worth the risk of getting a worn set. Get a new set.....

Just put in my used 373's, the wear on them looked "ok" and they still make noise, backlash and pinion depth is perfect too, kinda makes me want to get a new set
