Worth It?

I posted a week or so ago about possibly having to pull the heads on my Z28 to have an exhaust manifold bolt taken out.

Would it be worth, instead of having to pull the heads, to buy a exhaust manifold gasket kit and install both gaskets on the side with the broken bolt?

I figure it'd be worth the 11 dollars the gasket set costs.

Thanks

Re: Worth It?

No it would not be worth it. If it's leaking with one bolt and one gasket it will still certainly leak with two gaskets.

It'd be worth it to port the heads when they are off the car.

x2 for doing it right and pulling the heads.

Re: Worth It?

I really don't want to pull the heads. Before I do anything I'm going to pull the exhaust manifold and see if there's enough bolt left sticking out of the head to get it out. Just hoping there was a less invasive way to fix it.
