Is it assembled? If it is, who built it? A shop or the guy in his garage? If you have to build it, I dont think it's an incredible deal. I just brought a Jasper rebuilt (I know not the same, but as a guage) 3yr/75k warranty and it was $2100 (i get the "Jobber" price). Hopefully someone else can help more! LOL

It has been assembled, comes with all paper work, "balance card" etc. It was not assembled by a shop, but suposedly a guy and his father that has built engines for 30 years as they put it. Are the parts themselves with that setup worth the cash, or am I better looking around more?

It doesn't sound too bad except I'd be a bit wary of the P-series bearings. I used them in my engine and pulled it after less than 200 miles and they were scorched. But I did have somewhat low oil pressure at idle and the temp skyrocketed once due to a failed electric water pump so that could have fried em. Still they should have been more durable. From now on I'm going with H-series in all my builds...

Hey,
I'm exploring options for my '96 Z28 right now too. I went on the Jasper
web site, the "regular" LT1 listed for $2800 and the "upgraded" was about
$3300.
Which one did you get ? Core charge, shipping ? The company
I work for has a chain of retail garages, so I should get the good guy
price too. May have it installed as well.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I'm close to doing the rebuilt, but would
love a 383. I think the 383 is just out of reach for me.
