Worst luck ever oil pan leak!

Worst luck ever oil pan leak!

Well I was setting my car back down from reinstalling the tranny
i was letting the jack down and some how from letting it down jack slipped and knocked a hole in the pan , i thought about patching it with jb weld if not too bad,for temp fix.... what do I have to do take off the Oil pan? Is it hard to do ? thanks

That might work, but you would really want to be sure that the pan was not inerfering with the crank in any way.

I just removed my oil pan a couple of weeks ago and yes it is a quite involved job. I need to go back and re-torque the bolts one last time but so far no leaks.

oil pan

I jb welded will have to let set up over night...


O god how long would it take to take it off and reinstall another one?

I took mine off in about 10 minutes, but I've also got just about everything else off the motor cause I'm replacing the cam and fixing a broken head gasket. Torqing the rail bolts back down looks like it will be the biggest PITA, but atleast they're only torqued to a few ft/lbs.

it took me around 2 weeks but with school and when I'm not at school work and daylight all being issues I only put in a 1/2 hr. here or hour there type thing. Now that I know exactly how to do it I could do it in a day, easy.
