Worst luck EVER

ok, aside from being riddled with motorcylce issues, the car has behaved rather well. It needs a new alternator so I rarely drive it. Today im going to leave work and it needs a jumpbox to start up due to the battery... so I go to pop the hood and the cable comes right out. The hood cable is broken.... How am i supposed to pop the hood to replace the cable nevertheless the other parts under it?? Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Be careful of the TTTs. They will jump on you quick.

As far as the problem at hand, I don't know what to say. How is the cable broken. Did the metal inside the jacket come out? How much if so? I am not sure of the routing of the cable on the 4th gen.

It should not be that hard to install the cable your self - just follow the broken one. I had that problem with my truck. I know it's different. But I just had a place pop the hood for me and I replaced the cable myself

yea im sure i can replace it myself but I have no idea how to pop it. The cable broke at the end nearest the latch. I am posed with the problem of getting it to the dealer to pop it.

Re: Worst luck EVER

You can undo the stuff under the nose. I did it on my 94. I was washing my car down at school when I got done i decided to check my oil. I was wearing gym shorts with no pockets so I set my keys on my core support. I checked the oil and this girl I know stopped by to talk. I closed the hood and realized my only set of keys was under it and the car was locked. I pulled out the plastic rivits that hold the underside of the nose down and then reached up in there and pulled the latch mechanicsim with my hand.

I'd agree w/ what OldSchoolSS said after removing & replacing the nose on my TA to add the FMIC.

To clarify you don't have to take the nose off completly. Just the bottom rivits that go by the "air tunnel" for the radiator. Then I think there are two more up there to take out too. A good flashlight and long arms will help you out with this.

Nope no wife. Suprisingly the girls I date don't even seem to mind all the cars. Although I hear that changes as soon as the ring goes on the finger.

Of course, if you were the devious type, you could juggle up to 10 girls:

Buffy: I think we are dating the same guy!

Heather: What kind of car does he drive?

Buffy: A 1993 Olds.

Heather: Nope- different guy, mine drives a 1994 TA...

Could be a problem if you forget which car goes with which girl, though .

Speaking of Achievas, they are peppy. My sis in law had the 4 banger and I drove it a few times. I put my foot down and was surprised. Obviously it wasn't a rocket but was pretty peppy.

Haha. Funny similar situation actually happend last semester with the two same cars. But I didn't date them at the same time though just very similar times. I like that Idea though. If I only had more parking spots down at school. HAHA

Re: Worst luck EVER

Yeah I'm impressed with the car. This one has the H.O. Quad 4 engine with the close ratio five speed. It also has 3.94 FDR. It pulls really nice all the way up to 7400 rpm. The sickening thing is that my winter beater is rarer than my Trans Am. They only made 500 I think with that Engine/Trans Combo.
