worried about driveability...

i am seriously considering getting the following items for my car sometime in the hopefully not too distant future:

GM hotcam kit
Vig. 2800 TC
3.42 gears

the thing is that this car is my daily driver and i wanna make sure that those mods wont make my car a lil too much for everyday driving...especially when it rains...i dont want my a$$ slippin all over the place...opinions please

I wouldn't see any problem with that setup. I've got 3.73s and a 2800 Vigi and no problems at all. As far as the cam, I'd say as long as you get a decent tune, it'd be great. Lots of people have that cam in their daily driver.

As long as it gets tunned you should be fine. As far as liding out, you get on it thats what its going to do.

I am running the hot cam, 1.6rr's and I just installed a 3,500 stall lockup 10 inch converter. I have only had it on the road for a week, but drivability is fine. The converter is not too loose under normal acceleration. The cam idles fine in traffic.

I say go for it!

The hot cam is fairly tame. You will hardly know it is in there besides the extra power.

Sure you're going to have driveablity problems in the rain. Most of these cars have too much torque to safely handle slippery streets.

Certainly possible though. You just need to be more careful. Just takes a fraction of a sec to have your A$$ meet you head on. JMHO

You will be fine with that setup. I'm running a 232 single pattern cam, 3,600 stall, and 3.42's. It's daily drivable.
