As the world turns...

Here's a quick run through of what has happened in the last week or so. I bought a 96 Z a few weeks ago, and decided i would treat it nicely so i switched it over to synthetic oil(not thinking that it has 80,000 miles and it has never had synthetic before). Sure enough, i started to notice dribbles on the floor. I switched back to 10w30 maxlife. The leaking has all but stopped, but i still notice a few drips. I have looked everywhere on that damn motor, but i cant find where it is coming from. I have used a paper towel and a mirror to look for an intake leak, the back of the motor is spotless. I don't think it is the rear main, because the drip is deffinately coming from the driver side of the motor. I looked where the flywheel is and the oil pan bolts are, but they arent dripping wet (they are greasy dirty, but not leaking). I am not losing coolant, and the side of the motor is not wet, so i am sure it's not a head gasket. Of course i checked the oil filter, it's tight, and so i the drain plug. I'm leaning towards it being my rear main, but if you guys have any suggestions just let me know. The other thing driving me crazy is how spiratic it is. Sometimes there are a few drips and sometimes it's just one spot, if any. It's been doing this for two weeks, and it has barely affected my dipstick. I think i might just put newspaper underneath my car and tolerate it for a while. By the way, my car is running great! My oil pressure is right where is should be...40psi at cruising, about 18-22psi at idle. Sorry for how long this is, it's just frusterating.

Thanks,
trav
