Can't be the opti. it wouldn't run without spark. I've seen a project lt1 not run because of water in the tank.

Don't just replace parts without doing some troubleshooting. Check the fuel pressure.

Get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure with the key in the on position, and check it while cranking to start it.

And scan if for codes.... unless you are so rich that you can just start throwing parts at it until you get lucky and hit the right one.

No I'm not... If I were. Wouldnt be worrying about all this an I would just buy a z28 that was running.. And from what I have told you, do you think it's worth 2000? Good interior and paint, but true mileage is unknown

Re: wont start unless spraying starter fluid

I personally wouldn't buy it if there was starter fluid ran through it.

Re: wont start unless spraying starter fluid

I would check for spark first. You need a strong bright spark from the plug. Just because it runs on starting fluid doesn't mean it will run on gas. A weak spark is considered a no spark. Check the plugs and see how they look. If they are gas soaked then you know fuel is not the problem.

You don't need to be worrying about that, now. Troubleshoot and find out what is wrong. The whole picture will become clearer.
