Won't start after rain, coil wire arcing to ground
A couple of problems with my 1994 Z28 LT1 187,000 miles.
Replaced plugs, water pump and optispark about 40000 miles ago.
Car will not start after a moderate rain, the engine sputters and coughs. I don't think anything under the hood is getting wet, I think it is more of the moisture in the air.
After the rain dries up the car starts fine. I have blown warm air on the coil and icm and the car will start fine.
The car then developed a bad miss, the coil was arcing to ground. I replaced the coil and still have same problem. When the car is missing you can see and hear a spark jump from the coil wire to ground. The car sometimes runs fine with no miss (not for very long though).
If I am driving or I turn the engine off and it is raining the car run will run fine or start just fine other than the miss.
Any suggestions....
I know I probabally need a new set of plug wires at least.....

Check for burnt plug wires for sure, I had that problem and thought my coil wire was bad and then thought my coil was bad, and it ended up being a spark plug wire had a burn mark on it. Also might wanna take the coil to auto zone or somewhere and they will check the coil for free!!!
