Re: wont start?

May not be getting any responses because the problem isn't very clear. By "won't start" do you mean the starter won't crank the engine, or when the starter cranks the engine, the engine won't start? What do you mean when you say "the remote starter would stay on"?

Re: wont start?

alright from the start. i hooked up the z to my v6 to jump start the battery. i thought that would work. anyways... usually when i have tried to jump start a car it starts right up but this time when i tried to start the z it went "click click click" however long i had the key turned which wasnt very long. actually the car started to turn over a few times but then it was done. what i mean by the remote starter stayed on is after i turned the key off ... it would try to start up again meaning the remote starter would try to turn it on and i didnt hit the button for it. i hopE that is more clear. thanks for any input.

Re: wont start?

Take the battery out and have it tested. Sounds like the battery in the Z is toast.

Re: wont start?

Sounds like your starter selonoid is bad. You can replace it, or replace the entire starter. Its pretty easy, two bolts hold the starter and there are three wires to disconnect from the selonoid.

That is my opinion of course I would check it out for sure before doing anything.

Re: wont start?

Just because you hook it up to you v6 for a few minutes, doesn't mean it will start. Was the original "not starting" issue because it wouldn't turn over (crank)? Or, was it turning over fine, just not firing? I would have to agree with the starter solenoid sticking, but I don't think you can just replace the solenoid on GM starters. We need some more clarification. Pull the battery out of your v6 and put it in your Z and try to start it. If it starts, then either you need to charge the battery or buy a new one. Your altenator could be bad too. Just really need some more information.
