hello everyone, i have a 93 trans am a4 118k. completely stock bumper to bumper. just replaced head gaskets. car died at stop sign and wouldn't start for several minutes. got it home cut it off and it fired right back up. few dsys later, i went to tinker and it fired up again w/no problem, ran for approx. 30 mins. washed it started it and it ran for appros 1 min and shut off and will not start up. car sat for about 3 hrs. and started for about 30 secs. and will not start. can anyone help a north carolina country boy.
p.s. forgive me for posting a pontiac but, you guys really seem to know what you are talking about

Ok when you washed it, did u clean the motor at all?? or spray the undercarriage??

Reason being the optispark is the worst thing to get wet. If its original then it MIGHT be the culprit.

 

to my knowledge i did not get it wet. neither did i wash under the hood or the undercarriage. after i posted the original message, i decided to go out and try it. hit on the first try followed by a smooth idle. also when it shuts off, it will start, but acts as if it is only running off of half cylinders or so. is it possible that i have bad gas or clogged fuel filter? thanks for your help.
