Won't idle
I have a 96 Camaro Z28. I have replaced almost every sensor because majority of them were bad. When I start it, I have to hit the gas in order for it to start. When I let off the gas, it dies. In order for me to get it to idle right, I have to hold the gas for about 5 minutes. It is still fuel injected (stupid stuff) and I have to keep it revved like a carburated motor. I have put a new fuel pump and filter. new plugs and wires, none of which are burnt out nor no damage to the wires. I just replaced the crank sensor because it fixed my other problems but now this one just started acting up this morning. Someone please help. This is my ONLY car and I am a single mom and have 3 kids that have to go to school. I can list everything I have done on this car if needed.
Re: Won't idle
check spark plugs again for signs of fuel. Starting the the car with throttle down is enables the clear flood mode. Best thing to do is check the fuel pressure you should have around 43.5psi and it should hold relativley close for at least an half hour. if the pressure drops its probably do to leaking injectors or a bad fpr.
Re: Won't idle
You can get a fuel pressure gauge for about $35 at most auto parts stores. Get the one with the long hose and see if the fuel pressure holds with the key on, but not started. You want over 40 psi and it will hold for a while like stated above. Do you have a check engine light?
