Wondering what is the next...

I'm wondering on what is the next thing I should do on my LT1 in my firebird. I just placed a new CAI and a new ceramic coated elbow(the rubber ones are a pos). There has been a huge debate from everyone so far on where I should go from here. One person suggested I go with underdrive pullies and a short throat shifter for now and get some pacesetter longtubes with dumps and 3.73 gears. Another of my friend said I should get the headers now and worry about the shifter and pulley later. Mind you the car is completely stock besides the CAI and the elbow. (getting those CAGS out tommorrow.) Well, any suggestions on what I should do, take suggestion from first friend, second friend or do something else completely?

I'd get some headers and a catback. It is a pretty basic install, and is necessary to get the most out of future mods

Headers, exhaust, shifter, gears/tune, DR's, LCA/reloc. brackets, SFC. Pullies are a waste, IMHO. Have you done the TB bypass yet?

I would probably do the shifter first considering it is cheap and easy to replace. Then I would do the headers and a catback exhaust. Scrap out the pulley idea, they are a waste of money.

Good idea. Subframe connectors are one of the better mods I have done to my car.

On my 95Z M6 went this way.........
Free Mods, CAI, Catback, SHIFTER(Awesome mod!), Pullies(WASTE! Killed battery like clock work once a year), and finally 3.73's. 13.123 @ 106.8 mph! Not bad considering the valve covers were never off the car! LOL
Good luck with it and HAVE FUN! That's the best part about these cars!
Peace,
Mike
