I'm about to put a new cam in my car and I want to degree it but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a huge PITA with the heads on the car. How hard/long is it to degree a cam with the heads on the car?

Its a PITA but i'd make sure you do it. It just eliminates any doubt in your mind if the car doesn't perform the way you want it to. If its been checked then you'll always know thats not the problem.

There is a good article on cranes web site. I think the hardest part is getting the dial indicator lined up with the pushrod/lifter so that it doesnt walk during movement. I just degreed a cam last night only took about 1.5 BUT the motor was on a stand and had no heads on it.
