Just got on the subject of weight and weight reduction. I've even gone on a diet LOL 200 lbs in my car = slooooooow!

I've got a basic basic z28 6-speed.... SLP headers instead of cast manifolds, no power windows, no power mirrors, no power seats, removed all the emissions crap(YAY!). I do have subframe connectors and a bigger front/rear anti-sway bar, but those things i wouldn't imagine make the car THAT much heavier. I'm guessing 3400-3500 lbs with myself in it....... any ideas? Also thinking of removing all of my A/C crap next time it takes a dump (a/c delete pulley!)

I think the two biggest things working for me are the no power windows and no power seats ... my seats are ridiculously light!

My car weighed 3530 with my old lady in it.............she weighs 135. The scales were calibrated an hour before she weighed (at her work, truck scales).

 

My '96 TA weighed 3305 with a full cage and a 1/2 tank of fuel and my 280lb *** in the seat ...

 

Mine weighed 3440 with a full tank of gas and my FA not in the car.

 

but how much do power window motors, power seat motors etc. weigh? how much of a weight savings do you get by going to LS1 front brakes from LT1 front brakes? How much of a weight savings do you get from going to stainless steel headers from cast iron manifolds? Or how about ripping all of the emissions crap out of your car (kept the cat tho) - this stuff has to add up.... wish there was some place i could go to in Gwinnett County, GA to get this thing weighed hehe

 

I remember seeing an fbody website years ago that broke down every component on the car by weight. I will have to see if I can find that.

 

i believe they weigh in the vacinity of 3300-3500 lbs.

 

MY 95 weighs in at 3496 w/me and full tank
my 96 weighs in at 3520 w/me and full

 

Not trying to be a smartass or anything, but why speculate. Find the nearest truck stop or feed mill or race track and weigh it. My 97 SS weighs in at 3465 without me in it. My 93 Z/28 race car weighs 2880 without me.

 

If you have a landfill/dump near you they'll likely weigh you for free. I know mine does
