wiring harness splicing question

The wiring coming off one of the injectors, about an inch from the clip, is chewed up and I was curious if I can splice it with any wiring the same size or what I have to do? Same thing with the MAF sensor wiring except these are cut, can I just buy a pigtail and splice it in?

Re: wiring harness splicing question

As long as the plugs are good, I'd splice in some wire. It'd be best to solder and heat shrink, or use good crimp connections.

Re: wiring harness splicing question

Thanks a bunch dude! Im gonna go ahead and double check on this one since when installing longtubes to extend the o2 sensors reach it was made a point NOT to splice wire directly after the o2 sensor but into the wiring harness after the o2 sensor and its pigtail... Just double checking. Anyone?

No problems I know of to splice on the injector harness.

Re: wiring harness splicing question

Maybe they're saying not to make the splice right after the plug? To leave a little? That'd be best (I hate when people cut wires right next to something, makes it hard to work with), but if it's bad there go for it. I extended almost all of the PCM wires about 4 ft. to relocate it
