WIRING HARNESS on LT1
WIRING HARNESS on LT1
Does the wiring harness that enters the car interior on the driver's side through the firewall pass through a plug-in connection or a wireloom w/o interruption in the wiring? If it is a plug-in set-up, how can the connection be removed from the firewall? The reason for my questions is that I partially damaged some of the wires during a re-routing of the fuel lines mod. Thus, I need to repair the wires. Without removing the wiring harness I have very limited accessibilty. Any assistance will be most appreciated.
Thanks!

The wiring harness I am referring to originates from the fuse box in the engine compartment on the driver's side, passes under the brake master cylinder on the firewall, enters the firewall on the driver's side and comes somewhere under (or behind) the dash on the driver's side. I think it is a plug-in connection on the firewall; just need to confirm. It is not the wiring harness off the PCM (at least I don't think so). I do appreciate your response.

ok got ya,
I haven't done this on this car but looked
7mm bolt holding the wiring harness to body , bolt in major wiring harness,at fuse box
two plugs on steering column and plug up under dash behind hood release

Thanks! Will check it out this weekend. So pissed I didn't protect those wires when cutting out the hole in wheel well to re-route fuel lines....damn rookie mistake....
Thanks again!

Yup, just like Slowride said. There's going to be a large square plug that connects the "engine bay/component harness" to the "interior dash harness." just past the fusebox. It's held together with a screw if I remember correctly.
Re: WIRING HARNESS on LT1
That square is only a loom that is glued together. You can pull a few inches of slack out but it is connected to many items inside the car. If I am wrong please let me know because im trying to remove it to paint my engine bay. The PCM harness came out easy.
