Wires touching

Is it okay if the plug wires touch one another? I lost some of the looms when I put in my OTVC kit, and had to zip tie them together. Will this cause any interferences or anything like that?

Probably because they are next to each other in the firing order. But, I would say that if the insulation is good on your plug wires, there should be no problem with them touching in a few places. What you have to watch out for is chafing that could cause the insulation to break down later and cause arcing. The factory commonly uses the small diameter corrugated tubing to keep the wires apart and from chafing. You might want to use some of that for insurance.

Ok well I have the 1/3, 2/4, 5/7, and 6/8 cylinder plug wires ziptied together, and where they go down to the opti they're all ziptied together. If I put that tubing on all of the wires can I still ziptie them? Where can I get the tubing?

Thanks alot Rob.

*EDIT* forgot to mention, they're 8MM Taylor spiro pro universal wires mounted OTVC

Re: Wires touching

The tubing can be purchased at about any parts place. No problem with zipping them together with the tubing on them.
