Which wire can be used on the water pump sensor?
Which wire can be used on the water pump sensor?
I want to hook my temperature gauge to the water pump temperature. Which wire is it? The dark or the light one? One seems white the other green, I can't really tell since its pretty dark.
Re: Which wire can be used on the water pump sensor?
You can't attach a second gauge to a single resistance type sensor. It will throw the readings off, making them meaningless. You have to add another sensor for you stand-alone coolant temperature gauge.
Re: Which wire can be used on the water pump sensor?
It doesn't matter what year your car is... if you add a second circuit to the temperature sensor (thermistor), it changes the voltage vs. resistance readings, and the ECM measures the voltage and converts it to temperature.

Ok nevermind, got the temperature sensor working again. Ok now I need to know which wire on the coil is for the tach. I see two stripes and I have trouble differintiating the colors between them. One is like pink/black stripe the other white/black stripe. Which is for the tach? Thanks.

White/black should work.
