Wiper motor problems, i did a search and came up with nothing.
I did a search on window wiper problems and all i could find were people having problems with the wipers not returning to their park position. I have a problem where my wipers will jump up to the "ready to wipe" position on their own while the switch is in the Off position but they won't ever move from that spot. If i actually turn the wipers to the ON position while they are already in the "ready" position they just sit there and don't move. If i turn the car off they will go down. Once i start the car they will jump up the ready position again, sometimes immediately sometimes not at all or sometimes after a few minutes all while the wiper switch is in the off position. If i start the car and the wipers don't pop up to the "ready" position i can usually turn them on and they work? Where would i start looking and do you know what i should check for? Would this be a wiper switch or wiper motor problem, I've heard if they won't go to the park position its the motor. Naturally this has to happen right around the time of the year when i need my wipers the most. Thanks for your help. Claude.

It could be a wire in your steering column. I had a wiper problem where I put the wipers on wrong and so the motor was messed up. Ordered a new motor on ebay and by the time it got to my house my original motor somehow fixed itself. If you end up needing a wiper motor I have the one I bought off ebay, it is used and auction said it worked, I never swapped them out. If you end up needing it, email me, $25+ship. poik.eric@gte.net

LOL thanks for the offer. I have 2 spare wiper motors as i was trying to track down a diff wiper problem and bought them then. I plan to swap in a diff motor and see if that fixes anything.

Does anyone know does the Washer fluid pump tie into the wiper switch? I just took it out and drove it and the wipers wouldn't work and didn't even come up to the "ready" position but when i turned the wiper switch the other way to make the washer pump squirt the washer fluid would come out but the wipers didn't move at all. That might help eliminate if its the switch or the wiper motor.

Just and update i think the problem is fixed. I swapped in a new motor and the problem is fixed. I would of swore it was the switch since the wipers would pop up on their own but they have been fine now for almost 1.5 weeks and i test them daily.
