When I turn off the wipers they will not go down they stop straight up and down.If I turn them on they work fine. I have 90,000 miles on my car could it be time to buy a new wiper motor?

 

Sounds like the wiper motor cover to me, in essence, you need a new motor. Mine wouldn't park when shut off, and replacing the motor fixed it. If you need help with getting everything out and back in, drop me an email or something. You don't need anything special other than a two prong puller and a flat file or something to separate the wiper arm linkage.

 

Thanks for the help!! I'm going to take the motor out and get a new one. Hope that's the problem.

 

Had the same problem, some sort of clip breaks inside and screws up the parking feature. New motor fixes it.
