winsheild wipers

I just bought a 95 camaro, it has a few problems but it's still awesome. I have a ? The winsheild wipers won't go down all the way to the stops. My neighbor has a 95 and his wipers go down all the way. Has this happened to anyone? Do you know how to fix this? The wipers work fine. I thought they just ran to a certain point, then when you shut them off they would stop then go down the few inches to the stops. This in not the case. Any help would be appreciated. If this isn't clear just tell me. Thanks!

If they just stop or "park" at the bottom of the normal stroke, the retract mechanism or switch in the wiper motor may be broken or just screwed up. A used wiper motor from a salvage yard would probably be your best bet. This is unusual. In this case the wipers usually cycle in and out of park position when shut off.

If they park below the normal stroke, but not on the stops, the arms may be off index. In this case the driver's side wiper probably over travels beyond the glass at the A pillar on it's outboard stroke. You can remove the arms and reposition them.
How isn't always intuitive.

If none of the above, I'm baffled. Any more symptoms?

The wipers work fine when there on. The only problem is when I turn the wipers off they dont go all the way down to the stop or the plastic cowling. The wipers stay about 6 inches from the bottom of the windsheild.

Mine also work fine but when you turn them off they don't go down to the full rest position. It started this after I had my windsheold replaced.
