windshield wipers

windshield wipers

i own a 97 rs camaro.. my windshield wipers when off are in the up position... the wont go back down when i turn them off...

how do i fix this problem??? anyone have this problem and fixed it...

Been there, done that.

Replace the wiper motor. You have to get the cowl off, use a puller on the wiper arms, and take the hood off to get the cowling off. At least I did. It's not a hard job though.

the wipers work, they just dont want to go down. When the wipers do go down, i have to pull the fuse out so it stay s down... and when they are on, the work just fine... but when i turn it of again, they go up and wont go back down... how could it be the motor??? the dealership wants to put a neuteral switch on it... dont see how that will work...

anyone got a price on the motor??

I had the exact same problem, and it was the motor, or rather the manual says the motor cover, but you have to replace the whole assembly. Look on ebay. I got mine on there for $30. Been working fine. You could check the F-Body salvage yards also, I bet you could get it for a good price.

same thing here. i got so pissed the other day i forced them down and broke the driver's side wiper.
