Window Rattle
Window Rattle
My windows rattle like crazy when the are half way down. I figured out that the track that the window goes up and down on is partly the problem. The connection between the track and the window isn't very tight, and it rocks back forth causing a rattle. Is there anyway to tighten this up, or is this just normal? The rattle is really bad, it sounds like the window is going to fall off. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thats how GM's windows get over time, especially their windows that have no frame. I think they have a rebuild kit but its not worth the time or effort. I have a slight rattle in my car now. I believe that it stems from leaving the windows have way down and hitting all those bumps, lossens the clips on the bottom of the window.. One day in my 88' caprice the window was rattling and it just feel into the door.
I am having the same problem with my windows. I just replaced the window motors and they are still slow as HE!!...I dont know what else to do to make them faster. I am gonna get some new switches I guess. But, everything rattles on the camaro...it gets annoying over time.
Most often, it is the stabilizers that need to be replaced or adjusted. These are the same items that can cause scratches on the inside of the windows. Adjustment procedures can be found here.
