Will the valves hit the pistons?

Im curious if the valves will hit the pistons with this cam I have in the car using 1.6 rockers

230/236 cam 112 lsa with 4 degrees of advance ground in (108 ICL). The lift with 1.6 rockers will be .622/.624. The lift with 1.5 rockers would be .583/.586.

I already have 1.6 rockers but im curious if I have to go down to 1.5 rockers. My heads flow numbers increase and a constant rate up to .7...

I have CM618 springs from my last 224/230 cam but I am not sure if I will be able to use these or not, I would obviously have to get 1.5 rockers if I did. I also have stock lifters, will this cam just be too much for them? What springs would you recommend and what rockers would be best?

People can only make educated Guesses on if setup X or setup Y is going to have piston to valve contact or not.

Only way to make sure is check physically before you start up the car for the first time.

Anywho, this should be discussed in LT1 Tech. Moving-Thanks.

going by the information from this thread http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=118958
I dont think I will have piston problems.

Are there any springs that would drop in and allow me to not take the heads off to replace the old springs with ones that can handle aprox .650?

The only way for you to know for SURE is to test it yourself....
I recommend the play-doh method

I wouldnt go off of that thread, i dont know where HungryT/A got his number of .650 lift and below is fine but there is no spacific lift number since duration plays a big role in PTV clearnace also.

Always check piston to valve clearance if you don't know it'll safely clear (and how do you safely know most of the time... by checking ).

Regarding those lobes.. those are the 3100 series XE lobes, correct? I'd consider running a 1.5RR and a spring like the cc985, or something like the 977's with 1.6's. Either way, I'd replace the springs - it's cheap insurance. Those lobes are great, but alot of people run into dynamic problems with flimsy valvetrain parts & really aggressive stuff like that. Good luck
