Will a thrown EGR code cause the fans to stay on?

I was just wondering. I got my codes read today and I came up with a bad EGR. Would that cause my fans to run almost constantly? After I start my car and it runs for a few minutes (regardlessd of temperature) the fans come on and stay on. No engine light comes on or anything. The only code that popped was EGR. Any input would be good!! Thanks!

I am up at my beach house right now but when I get back to my house this weekend some time I will ask my mechanic exactly WAHT the number code was. All he told me was EGR. I am really hoping that is the problem. It gives me fits!! I'll post again as soon as I find out! THANKS!

I am back in the city and I stopped at my mechanic. It is a CODE 32 that my car is throwing. As I said the fans come on as soon as the car gets warm, the engine light almost never comes on. Sounds normal for a CODE 32? What do I need to replace? THANKS!! Yall on this board are life savers!!

Is the EGR something I can replace myself? Once it is fixed then in theory the fans should stay off? I didn't know ther car could throw codes that didn't trigger the engine light. It got annoying when both fans click on every time the car warms up but it took me a few weeks tro do anything about it because of the lack of an engine light!! Thanks for the input!
