will a standard 350 block work?

my brother wants to do a 383 for his 94 Z28. my uncle has a good quality 350 block that he is giving him for free. will my brother be able to build up a 383 short block then transfer his lt1 suff to it and make it work? or is the lt1 block the only way to go with these engines?

Thanks.

James

Not gonna work, the LT1 has reverse flow cooling and all the passages are different.

And the LT1 intake has no provision for a distributor, etc.

And the accessories and pass side motor mount will be fun too.

It's not just a hole.
