Will not start/is it the dist?
IAM IN DEEP NED OF SOME HELP WITH MY 1993 z28, 5.7, DIST. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO CHECK THE DIST TO FIND OUT IF IT IS BAD. I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ON HOW OR WHERE TO START. WOULD SOME ON THE FORM PLEASE HELP ME. THE ENGINE TURNS OVER, JUST WILL NOT START. HAVE CHECKED THE COIL. DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I SHOULD DO.

Since you already have an "introduction" post on the "New Member Introduction" forum, I'm going to move this thread to the "LT1 Based Engine Tech" forum. That's the best place to address your problems.
Scan it for codes. If there is a problem with the optical cam position sensor in the Optispark distrbutor, there will be one or two codes set. Neither of those turn on the SES light. Since you have a 93, you can scan it for codes using a paper clip to short the pins in the ALDL connector, and flashing the codes on the SES light. Shoebox has a guide, and a list of the codes (note, there is a special column on the right side of the code lit for the 93):

The codes will also point to problems with the ignition control module (ICM) which could also cause the not start.
Next, check the fuel pressure to make sure the pump is providing adequate fuel.
