will my stock tc handle a xe 230/236?
I am getting the cam soon, and the tc after (yeah i know i have it backwards lol) but will it stay idle, and wont stall on me at every light with a tune?
i'm just stuck between that, xe 224/231 (i think that was it i forgot lol) and hotcam
it looks like it'll be the hotcam, cuz its the cheapest (money does matter, and i know it costs money to play =/ ), and it wont punish me for having a stock converter... but i really want a bigger cam...

I ran the 224/230 with the stock TC for over a year. The only problem I had was the 'creeping' when at a stop. From the pcm tune, the idle was set @ 850.
Obviously, as you are aware, you're not taking full advantage of the cam with the stock TC, but it's not the end of the world. I added the 2400 stall, then a couple of months later, the 3.73's. That period of time where I had the 2400 with 2.73's really sucked. Those 2.73's are horrible with a higher stall. If I had it to do over again, I'd get the gears, then the stall.

if you get a cam kit from combination motorsports, its really not that uch more expensive than a hotcam. Your main problem will depend on your tuning...if its tuned to run good at idle, its probably tuned to idle at 900RPM or so, which means your going to have to press the brake harder at stoplights to keep it from creeping. If its not tuned, its probably going to run like dookie anyway no matter what cam you put in it, but it won't creep (might die a lot though)
I'd be more worried about your stock trans. My XE 224/230 blew it sky high with two passes at the track... and that's with only 40K on the clock 
As long as you don't pound on it, you'll be ok. At least with my cam the creeping sensation wasn't too bad... your foot isn't going to get tired pushing down on the brake... the force difference is minimal. But if you're going to drag the car I'd consider either both a bigger converter and some kind of trans upgrade.

a bit off topic but this is the first i have seen. my trans is all stock for now but i experience this creeping at stop. i idle at 900 and have been putting it in neutral to ease up on the brake. is there something wrong?? a 24 to 26 stall TC is in the near future=> will this creeping get worse with a higher stall TC?? thanks.
