CM 912 springs
CM 912 springs
does anyone know the rating on these springs?
maybe its just me but they look kinda weak.
i just dont want to get this new motor together and then have to replace the springs in a year.
so what are your opinions on these springs? i feel like i can compress them in my hand almost.
thanks for any responces.
i just dont wanna take any short cuts on this stroker. i want it to be done right the first time.

Did you buy them without knowing the specs? Seems like CM would be able to tell you with just a phone call or email. If you did buy from them, you might want to verify that is what you received.
the springs were what they suggested i go with (over the 911) but the just dont seem beefy enough. im gonna bring them to my machinist tomorrow and see what he says.

When they first released their springs they came to this site to give 10 of them away for free. I was one of the ten but had no use for a single spring. As a result, Seth set me up with a great deal so I could test them out.
I'm not even sure which model numbers I got but the specs are:
130 lb @ 1.8"
340 lb @ 1.2"
They are decievingly small and I had my doubts. Off came the Crane springs (which I never liked!) and on went the CM springs, installed at 1.8". I'm still running those same springs and rev'ing to 6500 RPM on an XE cam (max lift .556"). I think I'm at the limit of their capabilities but I'm terribly impressed.
As long as they can control valvetrain motion you want them as light as possible, and these springs have much less mass then comparable units. The bang for the buck is off the scale. CMotorsports seem to give some of the better advise out there as far as vendors go so I'd feel comfortable taking it, IMO.
If you use 'em and they don't perform as expected, please report back. I've been promoting them
