Will I hit 350HP?
Will I hit 350HP?
I am in the process of building a 355 LT1 right now. I am using intake gasket matched heads, with a 3 angle valve job. A cam very similair to the hotcam 218/224 .4??/.4??, 1.6RR, pacesetter long tubes, cut-out, gutted CAT, electric waterpump, SLP CAI, throttle body bypass, airfoil, EGR delete, AIR delete, and a MADz28tune.
Is this enough to hit the 350 wheel hp mark? Or do I need a bigger cam?

Re: Will I hit 350HP?
possibly a bigger cam!
youll want bigger after you put that one in. also go bigger on the stall too..
3200 is the best
i am having a built 355 right now on stock heads/intake/tb with a 238/242 cam.
so yea

Re: Will I hit 350HP?
You will easily hit that at the flywheel. If you want that at the flywheel you need to do more. The heads should be really ported and to be honest unless you used a VERY good shop the valvejob is probably worse tha stock because the stock one is rather good. You might consider 1.7 because that is rather low lift the heads should support more just make sure you get the right springs and check geometry.
Re: Will I hit 350HP?
Gasket matching is for people who like thinking their heads are way better than they are. Actually get the heads ported and you will be where you wnat to be with your current cam.
Re: Will I hit 350HP?
With all the supporting mods you have. Its a VERY good chance you'll hot the 350rwhp mark. Its been done alot. Inly thing I see that will get in your way is probably the stock t/b. Id go with a 52mm-58mm. But other than that its all up tot he tuner.

Hehe, now that you mention it. I totally forgot he was an auto. Let me restate my post. You'll most likely get 330rwhp. Most m6 cars with that setup see about 350rwhp.
Re: Will I hit 350HP?
In my old '96Z I did a Hotcam, FLP long tubes, stock tuning, LT4 heads (out of the box), 1.6 rr, and stock LT4 intake. I did 363 rwhp and 333 rwtq. So yeah I think you'll get 350.
Re: Will I hit 350HP?
Do the extra cubes not count for anything?
I mean 330HP seems like what a stock 350 is gonna make. Should I even bother making it a 355?
Also I didn't think the TB made that big of a deal.

Re: Will I hit 350HP?
I have the same cam that you are thinking about installing and it is a good cam and I like it. The lift numbers (.495/.503) are with 1.5 rockers so with 1.6 you will be looking at .528/.536. The cam pulls hard around 2,500 to 5,500 with the stock tune and has a pretty nice lope. If I were you I would go with the XE 503 (220/230) because it would sound better and make a little more horsepower. I am probally going to install that one sometime. Also do you like your 2,400 stall converter and what kind do you have? Thanks and good luck, Chris!
Re: Will I hit 350HP?
no... 5 CI is not going to give you any noticable difference... a 350 is jsut as good as a 355. 5 CI is nothing.. now if you were building a stroker... that is a compltly different game.
