Will This hold?

I'm going to go ahead and rebuild the motor and put some spray on it. I am wanting to spray 200 if i can get away with it.. My question is can i get away with some forged I-beam rods, forged pistons and the stock crank and studded stock mains? Also what parts do you suggest? I'm trying to go cheap but i don't want it falling apart on me...

Thanks
Nick

an aftermarket cast crank will be stronger than the stock one. I would use arp bolts in the whole motor for some extra insurance.

An extra 50shot is not a huge difference. I think that will hold just fine, but before going 200 you need a new pump, don't forget that in your setup.

You don't need 4 bolt mains to run a 200 shot. You need good tuning, good gas, and no detonation.

Thats the same setup I am going with. The stock crank is pretty strong man, with a good balance, lightweight forged pistons and a good lightweight rod you will have taken alot of stress off the crank. I am spraying a 150 shot with this setup once its all back together. For rods Eagle or Scat's are reaonalby priced, come with ARP bolts, and are plenty enough. I went with Mahle pistons, because they are already coated when you get them, come with rings, and i have heard alot of good things about them. Also like previously stated a good tune, good gas, and a timing retard and other safety features is what you need to spray.

I have been informed multiple times that a Scat or Eagle I beam should be more than adequate with a 355. The Scat I beams are 4340 forged and are very strong...will be plenty strong. if you want more reassurance you could go ahead and upgrade the rod bolts, but H beams aren't necessary. Also the h beams are a good bit heavier as well.
