Will the car run with out sims and new exhaust?

Hey guys I need help. I installed my LT headers and loudmouth exhaust, but I forgot to buy sims. Can I run the car with out them in the mean time?

I thought only the front O2's controlled the A/F ratio?

Yes it would run...you would be surprized what all can be disconnected and broken and a car still run.....now run well is completely different

It should run fine, but it will give you a check engine light.

Re: Will the car run with out sims and new exhaust?

Correct me if I'm wrong but... O2 sims only replace the downstream (after cat) sensors. The downstream sensors have a completely different job then the upstream sensors. I don't think there is even a way to make O2 sims for the upstream sensors only because the PCM is looking for a reading that constantly goes up and down in reaction to the oxygen in the exhaust. The downstream sensors are supposed to stay relatively constant, which is why it is possible to simulate them. Best bet would be to buy O2 sensor bungs and weld em into your exhaust and use the upstream O2 sensors. Bungs are only like $7 each through Jegs. Upstream O2 sensors only fine tune the fuel mixture to keep it to 14.7:1. If it were up to me, I would rather have it fine tuned then simulated anyway.
