Unhappy Will this cam pass California emissions?

I am about to move out to Cali and I have a cam already installed in the car. The cam is a 222/232 w/110lsa. I can not imagine this cam passing emissions, but I want to see if anyone has one similar that passes. The small lsa is killing me. Is there anyway around the emissions test? I will only be there for two years, so I might just have to buy a beater. I don't want to because I love my car, but if I can not drive it then I really have no choice. I do not want to change the cam, so that option is a big no.

Yeah, tuning and the number of cats you put on. I got my 306 to pass, but I had to get a custom y-pipe made with a cat after each collector. A normal 95 sized ones at that. Then drive it around for 1/2 and hour to get it nice and hot, and then test it. You should be fine.

What are the specs on the CC306? Who did you guys get your tuning done through? I am getting some Ed Wright tuning at the end of this summer. I am sure he can give me some good insight. Thanks for the reassurement(sp?) fellas.

What's killing you is the 110LSA Nice by the way.
You have to find somebody good at burning a chip for your 93.
The emission-test passing/failing numbers for your 93, may also be more forgiven than if IT was a 97-98 model, per se.

I agree, the 110lsa is gonna break me. I do not want to get rid of it though, I love the way it lopes. I have heard nothing but good things about Fastchip, that's why I chose them, plus he is right up the street from my parents house. Why do you say the '93's are more forgiving emmisions wise, I do not understand. I would thing the newer F-bods would be, seeing how they have 4 cats and a gazillion o2 sensors!

What I meant to say is that for example, if the allowable percentage of C02 on a 97-98 is <2% -for sake of an argument- on a 93 could be <6-7% to pass. Your car being 10 years old, is not going to be tested under the same parameters as a newer car.

Well I wish I could tell you but I do not have the car over here, it is in my dad's garage right now. Getting a new trans while your BS'ing. I wanted to bring it over here at one time but I would have cost me roughly $5k, with free shipping. They have so many registration fees over here it will make your head spin. The 2 WAY roads over here are about as wide as an alley in the big cities. No exaggeration either! I stand 6'0" and I can lay the width of the road and touch dirt with my hands and feet. It is so small that I would be a major road hog.

Looks like I'm gonna be beater bound, mayeb I'll get me a '84 Cavalier Z24, and just dawg it out! Always wanted a beater. Maybe I will have fun with it and put a fart pipe on it. HAHA
