Will 99 firebird v6 rims fit a 94 formula?
I have a 99 Firebird V6, with 4 wheel-disc brakes. I am selling my old rims on ebay. A guy is bidding on them who has a 1994 Formula. He also has 4 wheel disc. Will they fit? He said he bought 2002 takeoff rims and they did NOT fit his car. Said the bore was off a little. I have a another story for my rims that i am selling. I sold them to a girl with a 1995 Camaro V6, these rims fit on the front fine, but she had rear drums and they did not fit on the rear. It was off like 1/8 of a inch off. A shop in town wanted like 75 dollars a wheel to bore them out a hair. I laughed at them and went on. So my question is will they fit the formula in 1994 and what the HE** is the difference in bolt pattern and bore pattern from year to year for firebirds and camaros. I thought all firebird rims from 1993-up were the same? Thanks for all the help
I believe the hub that comes off of the rear axle is bigger prior to '96. I had a '95 Z and bought some SS wheels for it and had to grind the inside lip of the wheel so it would fit over the hub. Hope this makes sense. T answer your ? no without modifying the wheel.

Nearly everyone has to relieve the hub area on the back of the late model wheels when putting them on an early model car. The protrusion on the axles on the earlier cars was bigger than in later years. It is not a big deal and if the purchaser gets late model factory wheels from anyone, he will have to do the same thing. There is no bolt pattern difference. A few minutes with a Dremel and it is done.
I agree with shoebox, just installed some 2002 Z28 wheels on my 1995 Z28, the hub has to be enlarged ever so slightly to make them fit on a 93-97. You dont even have to grind down that lip in the hub all the way, just a little.
I just took a air grinder or dremel and took a little off the wheel no problems at all. I would grind the wheel over the axle because it will be easier the aluminum of the whells is much softer.
I had 99 Trans Am rims on my 94 Z. They were pretty new take offs when I got them. They went right on the front. My rear was discs and they were really tight..I just figured it was because they were new so I used the lugs to pull them on even and slow. After I ran them for a while they go on and off with no problem now.
