Will 38 mm offset work w/ 17 in wheels

im looking at these wheels and im curious if a 38 mm positive offset will work with a 17 inch rim. Im planning on running 275/40ZR17's. i talked to someone from discount tire and they said it might need some minor modifications like fender rolling?
thanks for the help

Here's an explanation of what the offset is.

I have 17x9.5 ZR1's with a 56mm offset and they fit just right. You can see in the diagram, by moving the hub closer to the center, the outer part of the wheel will be sticking out requiring the fender mod.

I wouldn't go with the 38mm.

No one can answer that question accurately without knowing the width of the wheel.
