Will a 3.4 auto tranny work with an LT1?

How hard it is to swap out a 3.4 engine for an LT1?
Edit: TItle change because my 1st question was answered. Second question is how hard is this to do? the wiring harness... how much goes through the firewall into the dash?
Just like the title... Will a 3.4 auto tranny work with an LT1?
I am looking to do an LT1 conversion for a buddy of mine who has a 3.4 in his car. I located a engine, all the wiring harnesses as well as PCM. I know I will still need to get another Speedo, radiator, and engine mounts.... he's gonna go headers out to a cutout, but he will have a stock Z28 muffler on his car in case he decides to close the cutout. What else am I missing? Will the tranny work? he already has the 10 bolt with 3.73's and an LT1 drive shaft.

it should be standard sbc bolt pattern, but it probably won't be able to hold up to the torque of the lt1. i would just get a used 4l60e (dont know what tranny comes with 3.4s) you can pick em up pretty cheap.
