Wierd SES light issue...
Wierd SES light issue...
Hey,
I've had the car for 10k miles now, and the SES light has only come on twice. Once when I first got the car, it was bone stock with a flowmaster muffler. I was driving around a curve on the onramp, and I felt the car miss and saw the SES light on. No more than a second later, literally, it was off. And never came back on again, so I didn't think too much of it. A week ago I was coming home one morning from school, and the car had sat overnight. It was somewhat cold (40s), and when I started it up I let it warm up a bit. I drove out of the parking lot, and the same thing happened. Bucked once and the SES light came on. I pulled over, let it idle for about 10 minutes, drove away, nothing else. At this point I have what's in my sig and just put a racetronix pump in and a new AC delco filter today. Is this a warning sign of my opti? When the car starts sometimes, the idle will *slowly* climb to about 1300, hold there for a second or two, then crawl back down before settling at 700. I believe it's the original. Thanks for the help.

Re: Wierd SES light issue...
Easiest way to find out what the problem is would be to scan it for codes. Once the light goes on, the code stays stored for a while, even though the light has gone off.
