Re: Why my 2 year old opti died

Welp,

Just pulled of the old opti today, forgot how messy that gets with the coolant dripping all over the damn engine compartment. Anyhow I got it off and it feels stupendious. I was noticing how parts of my engine seemed to be a tad moist, and I notice there appeared to be rust behind the water pump around one of the passages. Not over night rust, but been there a while rust. not to mention I couldn't find my gasket. Apparantely the coolant found a weak point and took advantage of it. However that wasn't the reason for my opti going out. The opti area was completely dry. No sign of coolant any where, not to mention it was completely dry inside. When I cracked it open, it looked much like the inside of my last opti at 60K miles-go figure.

Also, it would have been hard to spot the leak due to the SMOG bracket being in the way. IT's a good thing my opti did go out, because It might have been a serious problem had I not caught it so early.
