Angry why isnt the performance shift mod working for me?

ok, yesterday i decided to do this mod so i bought two sets of 16 guage 12v wiring (black for the switch, and red for the led), a red led and a toggle switch (didnt know at the time but it has a built in led too). so i pulled the kick panel and found the blue and white thingys, and spliced into line "A'' on the blue one and wired it to the cigarette lighter, and did it work NO. so i studied the diagram from shoebox's link and reread the instructions provided on here somewhere, and it says line "A" is the light blue wire, but line A isnt light blue it is a light green and line E is light blue. so i tried it with line E (drove around the block) and still nothing . now i am beginning to get pissed. however i did notice that when i wired it to E the led in the switch lit up (prolly b/c line E has a connection on both sides and line A doesnt). so i got clever and tried by splicing into both lines A and E together and the light lit again but no change in shift firmness. i dont know WTF to do now somebody please help!

You are all messed up, dude. The directions are simple.

"A" on C230 (blue connector) is a light blue/gry wire. There is only one wire coming into the cavity from the pcm side. No wire going out. That wire goes to the switch.

On C220 (white connector) you want "H" (dk blu/wht). That goes to your LED.

You also said you got a toggle switch. You cannot use it. It must be a momentary switch just like the instructions say.

[edited to correct where the switch and LED are connected.]

...shoebox i keep telling you, i am a freakin idiot and i cant follow simple instructions, i am sending myself to my room now. thanx man, ill go try it now. BTW when i went to Radio Shack yesterday and i asked them where the momentary switches were, they pointed me in the direction of the switch i bought. it is red and has three prongs (pwr, acc, ground) they did have a box labeled "momentary switches" but they were all push button switches, does this mean i have to get an ugly pushbutton switch?

Gald I saw this thread, I was about to do that mod myself. BTW how much voltage is in that wire, I don't want to put the wrong LED in there and have it explode whan I flp the switch.

OMG the freakin car just died on me. after redoing the wiring like you said shoebox (wire switch to blue ''H" wire on white connector) the mod still doesnt work, so i quit for a minute to think about what i could be doing wrong, and about an hour later my friend comes down here and asks me to take him to work. on the way there the battery charge was in the low orange, and the ABS INOP light came on along with the check guages (very dim). so after i drop him off and i pull out of the parking lot i have to rev extremely high just to get the car going then it goes. its like im driving a stick and riding the clutch then coming off very slowly. so i make it home then i undo the negative on the battery (just like i do everytime i attempted to do this ****) and undo all the wiring and switch i was using to see if everything would return to normal. then i hook the (-) back up and try to crank the SOB and i wont even try to turn over, it aint even crankin! WTF have i done, i just wanted to get the extra ''umph'' out of my tranny, and now the whole dam car says f*** me? PLEASE HELP

Sorry, I was in a hurry when I posted this morning and got the switch and button reversed. I corrected the post above. It should be wired like the diagram showed. I apologize for the confusion. Having it backwards should not have caused any harm. Sounds like your battery is going dead and/or your alternator is not charging.

Are you sure you did not connect to the red wire in cavity "A" of the white connector? That is the alternator feed to the instrument cluster and must not be disturbed for the alternator to work.

hey shoebox, (i dont know if ill attempt this mod anymore) coming from the cigarette lighter there are two wires one black and one orange, which was i supposed to connect the switch to as a ground (im thinking the black), i tried the black wire yesterday but it didnt work (prolly b/c i had the wrong kinda switch i.e. not momentary). but now that i think about it today when i wired the new switch (an actual momentary switch) i never tried the black cigarette lighter wire (only the orange) , maybe ill try it tomorrow (i hope i dont f*** up anything else).

The black wire to the lighter is ground. No, wait, it's... just kidding. It's really ground.

Did not get a chance to do it, had stuff to do and fell asleep, When I woke up their was no day light and I did not feel like messing with it at the time, I still need to buy an LED too.
