Why I swear on Mobil 1 10-30W in CT

Here goes. I got a 97 LT1. Blew first headgasket in 2006 the gasket around the passages blew and I dumped coolant in my motor. Ran coolant in motor for about 10-25 miles. Brought it to the best mechanic Ernie from Ben's Exon in Poast road in CT, Milford. He told me even though the car barely ran and had no power and I drove it to a point that in min it poored white smoke" coolant" down the road that it will still run!!.We changed the Mobil 1 10-30W and put new oil in it then he made me buy two bottles of Copper headgasket sealer and we flushed the coolant so that there was only water in the LT1 with the two bottles made me drive the car with just water and no coolant so it flushed it out and then we added drained the water and mixed 50 water and 50 green coolant, as even mechanics in my dealership hate the GM orange coolant bec it eats away at the gaskets and turns into sludge. But anyways the car ran mint for another year...............................

THEN a year later the car started to misfire on Cyl#7 and in one month it started backfiring and I brought it to my dealership that I work at and I blew the ring gasket in the clyc #7. The metal part in the middle of teh head blew out and I have that gasket hanging on my wall in my room. Car has 157,000+ miles all stock except K&N cold air and SLP loudmouth. I mean this car had the orig rims, filter, rusted exhuast, spark plugs! I bought the car with 101,000 mikes, orig everything! and I beat the **** out of the car with Mobil 1 10-30w!!!!! The oil had coolant in it I mean it was a milk shake. I swear on Mobil 1 when it blew 2 head gaskets!! and still runs till this day knock on wood. I shaved the head and put a new head gasket on the only bad head which was the driver side. Oil pressure is in the middle still if not little past it. I'm 24 years old and now I respect the LT1 and the races I won. I change the oil every 2,500 miles and there are some shavings in it. Magnet bolt is what attracts it. I believe its either the Motor or the oil that did its job. The bearings are still good because of the oil I use.

That's a load of horse ****. It won't last no 100K miles, sure but what about it would eat gaskets and exactly what gaskets does it eat?

Are you completely sure about that? Have you looked at them to make sure they aren't worn?

Damnnnnn... next time my stroker pops a head gasket, I'm a gonna not even pull over to the side of the road.... I'll just drive 150 miles or so straight on there to CT, on up to Ben's Exon, ask for Ernie, and have him dump a load of that there copper head gasket sealer in. Sure beats wasting time pulling the head.

And its probably gonna blow any day now, since its been running that horrible orange coolant stuff for nigh on to 12 years..........

I don't need to run no stinkin' Mobil 1. I just pour a few bottles of Zaino down the ol' oil fill gullet and my cares are washed away...

fwiw, the orange coolant is only bad in the s-10 blazers. And that is only because it eats the poor quality radiators installed in them from China. The orange coolant has had zero problems in all the other GM cars.

I wouldn't talk sh** about him

He is one of the best mechanics and there are people that come from New jersey and Boston to have him work on there cars. He is prolly one of the most honest people out there. He worked on every street bike I had for a 6-pack. He did the needles and jets and tuned my ZX9R.He did my spark plugs in my Camaro for $300 and he lets me watch him at the shop even though the manager bitches sometimes. He can work on anything that runs on diesel or gas. He worked on them since 8 and if you describe him the problem he knows off the bat and is usually 99% right.
