Angry why is hub such a PAIN to get back on?!?!?

im soooo frustrated right now! i have had the new cam installed for days now and all i want to do is start it up!! but of course GM's brilliant design is kicking my a** and not allowing me to get the hub back on! i can not find the correct size threaded bolt ANYWHERE around here to use to make a install tool. i have tried heating the hub in the oven for about 20min but that didnt work either

im so lost! i have no idea how to get this thing back on! its SOOOO tight! it came off with no problem though. my local hardware store sells the grade 8 bolt that i need, but its not threaded all the way, so it wouldnt do much good. i tried tapping the hub on, and i had it about half way, then it wouldnt even budge after that. it wasnt on enough to put the crank bolt in and pull, and i was affraid to strip something.

anyone have any other ideas?! ive searched a million times! does anyone have a install tool they made that they are willing to ship to me?!? i will pay $$$$!!!! and i will return it! or if anyone has a number to call to get a threaded rod that will work!?

There is a J tool to install it. I just used it on mine and it makes it very simple. Its nearly impossible without it and you run the risk of stripping the crank and or bolt. You can get a new bolt at the dealer. I work at a dealer so I just borrowed the tool. Otherwise I would not know where you could get it. I hope you have a buddy that works at a Pontiac/Buick/Chevy dealer.

I had my threads messed up anyways so i drilled it out and tapped it out to the next bigger (AMERICAN) size. I dont remember what it was...... Then it went right on.

you could try sanding the crank snout alittle to help ease it on there. Don't do to much though i think you still want it to fit tight.
