Unhappy why is this fuse blowing?

I originally had code p0100. Ok looked at the mAF and it looked like one of the wires was messed up (dark and sorta bent). Got a new one, installed and reset the PCM. Blew the eng (20 A) fuse. Replaced and all was well. Today, one week later, the fuse went out again. The circuit is pullling the correct amps and the hot wire on the MAF is 12 volts. Any ideas guys? Could it be the O2s on the long tubes going out? Thanks.

I'd really like to know this as well. I've been having a similar problem.

I saw your other post, but I thought yours was a different fuse? Anybody else?

Might want to include a "signature" with basic info like the EXACT year of your car. All LT1's are not the same, and the wiring diagrams vary quite a bit from year to year. You aren't necessarily going to get the right answer without the basic info on your car. We can tell its a 96 or 97 from the "code".... but why make people guess?

Which fuse is blowing? Which wire looked burned? Where was the burning evident.... near the MAF.... remote from the MAF? You "got a new one" of what... wire?.... MAF? ..... fuse?.... all of the above?

oops sorry injuneer, I have been away awhile and my sig is not there anymore. You are right.

I have a 96, the maf wire that looked weird was the one that would be at the bottom inside the MAF when installed (closest to the ground). I got a new MAF from Jason, and that is when the issue with the engine fuse (20 amp) under the hood started going. When it has the "problem" ie the ses light on, I have a lope at idle, stuttering under accel, and reverse is hard to engage. After engine temp is up, the car is better, but still not right. Does that help? Oh and thanks for replying, I need the help. I hate chasing ghosts.

Are you saying one of the wires inside the MAF is burned.... the wires that measure the air flow?

I looked weird, black and not as straight as the others. Not really burnt just all carboned up. But when I changed the MAF the car really woke up. I wondered where the sluggish behavior had come from. Now to just solve the engine fuse issue.

Sorry for the reply delay we just had a tornado.
