Why doesnt my a/c work??

Well ever since i have had my car the a/c has never worked. It blew out air but not very much air and not cold so i figured id just put some free on in it and it would fix the problem. Well WRONG now atleast my compressor kicks on and it blows more air but its not cold i didnt have a guage but a put around a can in a half in. One of my friends says it might be my dryer or something like that b/c mine is hot and the one on his car is extremely cold. Is this most likely my problem if i didnt call it by the right name its the silver thing that has the hoses going into it. So whatcha think??

you may have a leak in a hose. go to ghetto zone and buy a gauge. if the system was empty, a can and a half might not fill it

Even one can of 134 should give you some cold air. You may have a clogged line somewhere or a clogged H-block not letting the 134 get to your evaporator inside the car. Also check you condensor in front of the radiator. If it has a lot of grass and stuff on it clean it off and try another can. Most a/c systems only take about 2 lbs. or so of refrigerant so one can should make a noticable difference
