How is your PCV system doing (mods to it?)? Any chance you might have excess crankcase pressure?

No SHOEBOX.. no mods. What kind of mods can be done to the PCV valve? It is just everytime i lift the hood, the dang thing is
sticking out of the tube

How would ENGINE crankcase pressure have anything to do with the tranny dipstick? I thought they were seperate systems... If it were his engine oil dipstick, I could see the crankcase pressure causing it.

FWIW: My transmission dipstick does this too. I can push it back in and drive and it will be open slightly when I open the hood next.

Could you maybe flare the end of the tube so the dipstick is a tighter fit over the end of the tube? I haven't tried that, but I wonder if it would work.

Mine does it too , i know that there are some vents in the tranny that can get plugged up , I assume that is what is happening .

It dosent spit any fluid back out so i dont worry about it too much
I would rather let the tranny breath then keep pressure in there that could cause probs with the seals

is this going to cause probs for me ?

Try checking the vent on the trans. Could be plugged up....happened to me once. Shot 2 quarts of fluid at me when I pulled the dipstick out.

Unfortunatly mine was at the very top of the transmission. I had to hook my arm around the trans to reach it. It is just a little piece of crap plastic vent stuck into the trans.....pretty usless, but it can get plugged.
